About Me

¡Hola! I'm Tyler. I grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, and I attended Indiana University and called the lovely town of Bloomington, Indiana home during that time.  I graduated with a BA in the humanities in 2013 and a MA in English with a focus in critical theory and an advanced proficiency in Spanish in 2014. Initially inspired by a near religious observation of Monday night episodes of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations in high school, I moved to Madrid in September of 2014 where I lived for two years while working as an English teacher in a public primary school in the city. During this time, I did a great deal of traveling all over Spain and Europe. In July of 2016, I returned to the states and moved to NYC in September of that year, where I'm currently based and enjoying all that the city has to offer while planning my next trips.

The name of the blog translates to "the tour of wonderland" or "the tour of the wonders" and was inspired by the original name of the barrio, now called Malasaña, that I called home for my first year in Madrid. Bienvenid@ y ¡salud!
